Alicki R. Lendi K. Quantum Dynamical Semigroups and Applications
Lect. Notes Phys. 717 Springer, Berlin Heidelberg 2007. - 129 р.

The first edition has been out of print soon after appearance. Over the years, a strongly increasing citation rate and numerous demands for copies led to the desire for a second edition. We may say that our original idea, i.e. , making the mathematical theory related to the fundamental concept of complete positivity and derived Markovian master equations more easily accessible to a wider community, has finally boe its fruits. For the present second edition various corrections and improvements have been necessary in addition to a clean typesetting. We also found it important to give at the end a survey of further developments in this field over the past 20 years together with a list of appropriate references. We would like to express our particular acknowledgement and thanks to Prof. Jerg Hutter who has taken the labour of translating the entire text into LaTeX.

Oxford Book Company, 2009, ISBN: 9380179073, 286 pages Solid-state physics, the largest branch of condensed matter physics, is the study of rigid matter, or solids, through methods such as quantum mechanics, crystallography, electromagnetism and metallurgy. Solid-state physics considers how the large-scale properties of solid materials result from their atomic-scale properties. Solid-state physics thus forms the theoretical basis of materials...

Wiley, 2011, 363 pages Zinc Oxide (ZnO) powder has been widely used as a white paint pigment and industrial processing chemical for nearly 150 years. However, following a rediscovery of ZnO and its potential applications in the 1950s, science and industry alike began to realize that ZnO had many interesting novel properties that were worthy of further investigation. ZnO is a leading candidate for the next generation of electronics, and its bio...

Wiley, 1999, 320 pages Livingston helps make the complex concepts behind the electronic properties of materials much more accessible for students. His very readable writing style and clear organization help to make the key topics much easier to understand. The first part of this text presents only classical ideas, covering the electronic properties of solids that are pertinent to the use of materials as components in various products. The secon...

1999. - 436 p. This book, then, is written primarily for the postgraduate student and the experimentalist. It attempts to set out the theory of those basic quantum-mechanical processes in homogeneous semiconductors which are most relevant to applied semiconductor physics. Therefore the subject matter is concentrated almost exclusively on electronic processes. Thus no mention is made of phonon-phonon interactions, nor is the optical absorption by...
