Julius Fučík (18 July 1872 – 25 September 1916) was a Czech composer and conductor of military bands. Today his marches are still played as patriotic music in the Czech Republic. However, his worldwide reputation rests on one work: his Opus 68 march, the Entrance of the Gladiators (Vjezd gladiátorů), which is universally recognized, often under the title Thunder and Blazes, as one of the most popular theme tunes for circus clowns. Самое известное произведение Фучика известно всему миру: "Выход гладиаторов" (нем. Einzug der Gladiatoren, чеш. Vjezd gladiátorů, англ. Entrance of the Gladiators). В 1910 году канадский композитор Луи-Филлип Лорандо (Louis-Phillipe Laurendeau) сделал аранжировку этого марша для небольшого духового оркестра, назвав её "Гром и молния" (Thunder and Blazes). Она быстро получила распространение в цирковых оркестрах (особенно первая, самая громкая и яркая часть, которой предваряли выход клоунов, борцов и прочих артистов, составлявших гвоздь программы).
