Kidd Sunnie D., Kidd James W. Theory of fear as a motivation
Mode science has two inseparable components, the empirical and theoretical. The empirical component is conceed primarily with observation; the theoretical component is conceed with the interpretation and explanation of observation.
If a deduction is in genuine disagreement with the observation, the postulate must either be abandoned or so modified that it implies no such conflicting statement. If, however, the deductions and the observations agree, the postulate gains in dependability. By successive agreements under a very wide variety of conditions, it may attain a high degree of justified
credibility but never absolute certainty.
A theory is pragmatic only in terms of prediction. Therefore, it shall be shown that fear is a motivation in itself, whether it be negative or positive incentive or habit, it can tu an organism on, guide behavior and tu the organism off. Therefore, fear as motivation and fear reduction as a
reinforcer, coupled with a direction provided for the organism once away from the reinforcer of drive reduction of fear itself is a paradigm of behavior leading to a new leaed response.

Palgrave Macmillan, 2007. 223 p. The book is an introduction to new debates in international relations. It shows why anyone who wants the best answer to foreign policy problems, like how to deal with North Korea’s nuclear arms program, must look at debates in IR theory, and also debates in metatheory. The latter involve questions about whether IR is much or little like the natural sciences, whether prediction is possible, and the like. The book...

Internationas studies quarterly (1990) №34, 295-310 James Der Derian’s merging of media theories with theories of international relations provides a prescient analysis to situations on the global scene today. Although Der Derian wrote The (S)pace of International Relations: Simulation, Surveillance and Speed in 1990, his thoughts are eerily relevant to the present War on Terrorism and potential war with Iraq.

Routledge, 1997. 409 p. The Future of International Relations presents the state of the art of international relations theory through an analysis of the work of twelve key contemporary thinkers. The authors break with the procedure in the field which juxtaposes aspects of the work of contemporary theorists with others, presenting them as part of a disembodied school of thought or paradigm. A more individual focus can demonstrate instead, the wel...

But in recent years—with the sudden disappearance of the Soviet Union, growing power of the United States, and increasing prominence of international institutions—many scholars have argued that balance of power theory is losing its relevance. This book examines the current position and future of balance of...

Cambridge University Press, 2006. 340 p. The agent–structure problem is a much discussed issue in the field of international relations. In his comprehensive analysis of this problem, Colin Wight deconstructs the accounts of structure and agency embedded within differing IR theories and, on the basis of this analysis, explores the implications of ontology – the metaphysical study of existence and reality. Wight argues that there are many gaps in...
