Мороз В. Ставлення до націоналізму у сучасній УГКЦ: теорія і практика утвердження еклезіологічної свідомості

The treatment of nationalism in contemporary Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church: theory and practice of establishment of ecclesiological consciousness.
Greek Catholic Church was closely related to national movement in Halychyna in the 19th century and had significantly contributed to its success. However Church had not identified itself with the organized Ukrainian nationalist movement of the first half of the 20th century and their relations were often confrontational. Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church cencures "radical nationalism", while stressing that "healthy nationalism", as a true love to the Motherland, differs from it, and, generally, nationalism is not equal to chauvinism. The watershed between the Church and the Ukrainian nationalism movement is defined by the question of the ultimate value. For the nationalists, it is nation and state; for the Church, Christian ideals and every particular person. Sharp discussions inside the Church also show certain misunderstanding of the nature of Church and nationalism by lay people. However, the main trend is the triumph of Church consciousness over "radical nationalism" in the minds of more and more adherents of Ukrainian Greec Catholic Church.
