Royer D., Dieulesaint E. Elastic Waves in Solids II: Generation, Acousto-optic Interaction, Applications
Springer-Verlag Berlin, 2000, 446 pages

Elastic waves possess some remarkable properties and have become ever more important to applications in fields such as telecommunications (signal processing), medicine (echography), and metallurgy (non-destructive testing). These volumes serve as a bridge between basic books on wave phenomena and more technically oriented books on specific applications of wave phenomena. The first volume studies the different mechanisms of propagation in isotropic and anisotropic media.
The second volume, Generation, Acousto-optic Interaction and Applications, investigates the means of generating and detecting the various types of waves studied in the first volume, their interaction various types of waves studied in the first volume, their interaction with light waves, and the exploitation of their specific properties in the construction and functioning of filters and sensors.
As a whole, this book is addressed to advanced students, engineers and scientists working in telecommunications, and also in geophysics, inteal nondestructive evaluation and medical ultrasonography.

Cambridge University Press, 2003, Pages: 255 This book presents a discussion of current and novel uses of reciprocity relations for the determination of elastodynamic fields. The author, who is internationally distinguished for his contributions to theoretical and applied mechanics, presents a novel method to solve for wave fields by the reciprocity of the actual field with a so-called virtual wave, shedding new light on the use of reciprocity...

1989. - 319 p. This book contains the proceedings of the international workshop on Many-Atom Interactions in Solids, which was held June 5-9, 1989, in Pajulahti, Finland. The purpose of the workshop was to bring together physicists, chemists and materials scientists working in the field of interatomic interactions and their applications in computer simulations of condensed matter. The workshop attracted a good fraction of the active groups in the...
