Abstract. This study looks at crystallization and sintering behavior in B2O3 containing Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 glass powder. The sintered sample was produced with glass powders measuring 44 ?m. The relative density and transmittance of the sintered samples showed the highest value at the temperature of 650°C. At temperatures higher than 650°C, crystal growth occurred to decrease the densification of B2O3-Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 (BLAS) glass powder. The main crystalline phase in the glass powder was ?-spodumene. From non-isothermal differential thermal analysis, the crystallization of particles (? = 44 ?m) was observed at 640°C to 684°C with respect to the heating rate. The activation energy of crystallization (EC) and the Avrami constant (n) calculated by Kissinger and Ozawa equations indicated that the surface and the bulk crystallization occurred simultaneously in the glass. The optimum sintering temperature of this glass powder was 650°C without crystal growth of ?-spodumene, although nucleation or nano-crystal growth occurred.

Elsеvier Sciеnce, 2004, 232 pages Deep connections are emerging in the physics of non-thermal systems, such as granular media, and other "complex systems" such as glass formers, spin glasses, colloids or gels. This book discusses the unifying physical theories, developed in recent years, for the description of these systems. The special focus of the book is on recent important developments in the formulation of a Statistical Mechanics approach t...

We report on impedance measurements of nano- and microcrystalline composites of the Li ion conductor Li2O and the ionic insulator B2O3 as well as their interpretation in the frame of percolation models. In the experimental part, besides the dc conductivity and its dependence on composition and temperature (i.e. its activ...

Oxford University Press, 2001 This is the first text on the modern theory of superconductivity. It deals with the behavior of superconductors in external fields varying in time, and with transport phenomena in superconductors. The text starts with the fundamentals of the first-principle, microscopic theory of superconductivity, and guides the reader through the modern theoretical analysis to applications of the theory to practical problems. The m...

Abstract Formation of titanium di-boride (TiB2) whiskers through carbothermal reduction of TiO2 and B2O3 has been studied from 900 to 1600 C in 1 atm argon. K2CO3, which forms a low melting liquid by reacting with TiO2, and NiCl2, which catalyses the carbon gasi?cation, were used to aid the whisker formation by a vapor–liquid–solid (...

Статья. Опубликована в Journal of the American Ceramic Society, Vol. 83, No. 5, 2000 Abstract. Titanium diboride can be produced by ball-milling a mixture of TiO2, B2O3, and Mg metal for between 10 and 15 h. The reaction was found to be completed during the milling with no evidence of residual Mg. The unwanted phase, MgO, was readily removed by leaching in acid. The leached powder obtained after 15 h milling had a particle size of 200 nm and was...
