Sundberg R.J. Indoles
Best synthetic methods. Sub-series: Key systems and functional groups. Academic Press. 1996. 175 p.

Indoles continue to be of great interest to the pharmaceutical industry and at the current time several thousand specific new derivatives are reported annually. Research has been driven by the wide range of indole derivatives which occur in nature and through the biological activity of many indole derivatives, of both natural and synthetic origin. This book provides a systematic guide to the most useful and important reactions in the field for both synthesis and synthetic modification of the indole ring. While including the most recently developed and promising methods, it also updates information available on classical methods to give the reader an up-to-date and comprehensive view of the subject. The methods are illustrated by procedures drawn from the literature and by tables including examples chosen to indicate both the scope of applicabilityand variations in methodology. The organization of the book is based on the retrosynthetic concept of identifying the bond(s) formed in the reaction, which in tu identifies potential starting materials.

5th ed. Springer. 2007. 1212 p. Since its original appearance in 1977, Advanced Organic Chemistry has maintained its place as the premier textbook in the field, offering broad coverage of the structure, reactivity and synthesis of organic compounds. As in the earlier editions, the text contains extensive references to both the primary and review literature and provides examples of data and reactions that illustrate and document the generalizatio...

2001 Wiley-VCH, 372 с. The purpose of this book is to emphasize recent important advances in organic synthesis using nitro compounds. Historically, it was aromatic nitro compounds that were prominent in organic synthesis. In fact they have been extensively used as precursors of aromatic amines and their derivatives, and their great importance in industrial and laboratory applications has remained. This book is not intended to be a comprehensive r...
