Trebin H.-R. (Ed.) Quasicrystals: Structure and Physical Properties
Wiley-VCH, 2003, ISBN: 352740399X, 648 pages

A comprehensive and up-to-date review, covering the broad range of this outstanding class of materials among intermetallic alloys. Starting with metallurgy and characterization, the authors continue on to structure and mathematical modeling. They use this basis to move on to dealing with electronic, magnetic, thermal, dynamic and mechanical properties, before finally providing an insight into surfaces and thin films. The authors belong to a research program on quasicrystals, sponsored by the German Research Society and managed by Hans-Rainer Trebin, such that most of the latest results are presented, including interesting new structures of the solid state.

2004. – 528 р. The aim of this book is to review of recent achievements in the theoretical investigations of the electronic structure, optical, MO, and XMCD properties of compounds and multilayered structures. Chapter 1 of this book is of an introductory character and presents the theoretical foundations of the band theory of solids such as the density functional theory (DFT) for ground state properties of solids. Chapter 2 describes the MO prope...

Wiley-VCH, 2011, 409 pages Complex metallic alloys (CMA) encompass a broad family of crystalline compounds made of metals, alloyed with other elements from the periodic table. As opposed to simple crystals, such as diamond and sodium chloride, CMAs possess a complicated microscopic structure that leads to unexpected novel physical and chemical properties. This makes them promising candidates for such applications as thermoelectric devices, scra...

2nd ed. - Oxford, 1994 Книга представляет собой введение в квазикристаллы и их фазовые переходы и диаграммы This revised edition of the book is intended to be an improvement on the original. Basically, the book remains the 'primer' it was intended to be, and has not been transformed into 'the' up-to-date relation of 'everything about quasicrystals'. Many other books, cited in the text, have achieved that purpose. However, since quasicrystal scien...

Physics Research and Technology, Nova Science Publishers Inc, 2011, 224 pages Quasicrystals are metallic alloys that exhibit atomic scale order, but not periodic order. Atomic scale properties of these materials are different from single crystalline material, for example, extraordinary mechanical properties, electrical and thermal transport properties, and electronic structure. This book presents topical research in the study of quasicrystals,...
