Tsen K.-T. (ed.) Ultrafast dynamical processes in semiconductors
2003. - 396 p.
This book is made up of recent new developments in the field of ultrafast dynamics in semiconductors with particular emphasis on its applications. It consists of eight chapters. The Chapter by Jie Shan and Tony F. Heinz reviews the different schemes for generating THz radiation using photoconductive emitters excited by femtosecond lasers. The Chapter by Dzmitry A. Yaroteki and Antoinette J. Taylor deals with principles and applications of ultrafast scanning tunneling microscopy. The Chapter by Han Htoon and Chih-Kang Shih is devoted to the studies of ultrafast coherent dynamics in semiconductor quantum dots.

World Scientific, 2011, 540 pages Computational Studies of New Materials was published by World Scientific in 1999 and edited by Daniel Jelski and Thomas F George. Much has happened during the past decade. Advances have been made on the same materials discussed in the 1999 book, including fullerenes, polymers and nonlinear optical processes in materials, which are presented in this 2010 book. In addition, different materials and topics are comp...

Springer, Berlin, 1999, pages: 293 The book presents an overview on important aspects of ion irradiation of surfaces, emphasizing low impact energies. Specifically, ion penetration and implantation into solids, defect creation and amorphization of semiconductors, sputtering of elemental and multicomponent targets, and ionization processes of emitted species are discussed. It provides a synoptic view of these phenomena which are strongly interre...

2004. - 453 p. The electronic properties of semiconductors form the basis of the latest and current technological revolution, the development of ever smaller and more powerful computing devices, which affect not only the potential of modern science but practically all aspects of our daily life. This dramatic development is based on the ability to engineer the electronic properties of semiconductors and to miniaturize devices down to the limits se...

World Scientific Publishing, 2005. - 262 p. - The increasing complexity of problems in semiconductor electronics and optoelectronics has exposed the insufficient potential of the technological doping processes currently used. One of the most promising techniques, which this book explores, is radiation doping: the intentional, directional modification of the properties of semiconductors under the action of various types of radiation. The authors c...

Springer-Verlag Berlin, 2010, 503 pages The book gives an overview of the dynamic behavior of dislocations and its relation to plastic deformation. It introduces the general properties of dislocations and treats the dislocation dynamics in some detail. Finally, examples are described of the processes in different classes of materials, i.e. semiconductors, ceramics, metals, intermetallic materials, and quasicrystals. The processes are illustrat...

Acаdemic Prеss, 1973, 288 pages This classic work on the basic chemistry and solid state physics of semiconducting materials is now updated and improved with new chapters on crystalline and amorphous semiconductors. Written by two of the world's pioneering materials scientists in the development of semiconductors, this work offers in a single-volume an authoritative treatment for the learning and understanding of what makes perhaps the world's...

1999. - 436 p. This book, then, is written primarily for the postgraduate student and the experimentalist. It attempts to set out the theory of those basic quantum-mechanical processes in homogeneous semiconductors which are most relevant to applied semiconductor physics. Therefore the subject matter is concentrated almost exclusively on electronic processes. Thus no mention is made of phonon-phonon interactions, nor is the optical absorption by...

Springer, New York, 2008, 622 pages This book describes semiconductors from a materials science perspective rather than from condensed matter physics or electrical engineering viewpoints. It includes discussion of current approaches to organic materials for electronic devices. It further describes the fundamental aspects of thin film nucleation and growth, and the most common physical and chemical vapor deposition techniques. Examples of the app...

Wiley-VCH, 2003, 686 pages Semiconductor components based on silicon have been used in a wide range of applications for some time now. These elemental semiconductors are now well researched and technologically well developed. In the meantime the focus has switched to a new group of materials: ceramic semiconductors based on nitrides are currently the subject of research due to their optical and electronic characteristics. They open up new indus...
