Vidick T., Wehner S. Does ignorance of the whole imply ignorance of the parts? Large violations of non-contextuality in quantum theory
NC-HV).

Oxford University Press, 1992, 230 pages Why is quantum theory so difficult to understand? In this book, written for both undergraduate and graduate students of chemistry and physics, the author looks at the continuing debate about the meaning of quantum theory. The historical development of the theory is traced from the turn of the century through to the 1930s, and the famous debate between Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein. The book examines in...

Cambridge University Press, 2003, 276 pages This timely volume provides a broad survey of (2+l)-dimensional quantum gravity. It emphasises the 'quantum cosmology' of closed universes and the quantum mechanics of the (2+l)-dimensional black hole. It compares and contrasts a variety of approaches, and examines what they imply for a realistic theory of quantum gravity. General relativity in three spacetime dimensions has become a popular arena in...

CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, 2011, 389 pages, ISBN: 1439825610 The application of quantum mechanics to many-particle systems has been an active area of research in recent years as researchers have looked for ways to tackle difficult problems in this area. The quantum trajectory method provides an efficient computational technique for solving both stationary and time-evolving states, encompassing a large area of quantum mechanics. Qua...

Oxforrd University Press, 1993, 785 p. The rise of quantum electrodynamics (QED) made possible a number of excellent textbooks on quantum field theory in the 1960s. However, the rise of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and the Standard Model has made it urgent to have a fully modern textbook for the 1990s and beyond. Building on the foundation of QED, Quantum Field Theory: A Modern Introduction presents a clear and comprehensive discussion of the gau...

InTech, 2012, 230 pages, ISBN: 9789535100355, 9535100355 Quantum Field Theory is now well recognized as a powerful tool not only in Particle Physics but also in Nuclear Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Solid State Physics and even in Mathematics. In this book some current applications of Quantum Field Theory to those areas of modern physics and mathematics are collected, in order to offer a deeper understanding of known facts and unsolved pro...

Second Edition, Narosa, 2005, 380 pages In the last few decades of the twentieth century, it has become clear that the weak and the strong electromagnetic interactions involved in quantum field theory are well described by interacting quantum fields. Although it is quite possible that, at even smaller length scales, some other kind of theory may be operative, it is clear today that quantum fields provide the appropriate framework to describe a...

Cambridge University Press, 2008, 176 pages Providing a deeper understanding of the microscopic world through quantum theory, this supplementary text covers a wider range of topics than conventional textbooks. Emphasis is given to modern achievements such as entanglement, quantum teleportation, and Bose-Einstein condensation. Macroscopic quantum effects of practical relevance, for example superconductivity and the quantum Hall effect, are also...

Addison Wesley, 1967, 336 pages The eleventh printing of this renowned book confirms its status as a classic. The book presents major advances in fundamentals of quantum physics from 1927 to the present. No familiarity with relativistic quantum mechanics or quantum field theory is presupposed; however, the reader is assumed to be familiar with non-relativistic quantum mechanics, classical electrodynamics, and classical mechanics. The author's c...

Elsеvier Sciеnce, 2002, 926 pages The first volume of this two part series is concerned with the fundamental aspects of relativistic quantum theory, outlining the enormous progress made in the last twenty years in this field. The aim was to create a book such that researchers who become interested in this exciting new field find it useful as a textbook, and do not have to rely on a rather large number of specialized papers published in this are...
