The Djerdap
plant
is located
on the Danube River,
upstream
from
Kladovo
place'
The system is constructed
for the
purpose
of
production
of electric
energy and for
regulation of na-
vigati6n in the Djerdap section
of the
Danube
River at the
length of more than
100km.
The layout of the
plant
is symmetrical,
consisting
of
the following
works:. two navigation
locks, two
hydroeiectric
power
plants
including central
spillway
dam, the total
length of the dam

the
river
