Batchelor G.K. The Theory of Homogeneous Turbulence
Cambridge University Press, 1982. 212 p. ISBN:0521041171.

This is a reissue of Professor Batchelor's text on the theory of turbulent motion, which was first published by Cambridge Unviersity Press in 1953. It continues to be widely referred to in the professional literature of fluid mechanics, but has not been available for several years. This classic account includes an introduction to the study of homogeneous turbulence, including its mathematic representation and kinematics. Linear problems, such as the randomly-perturbed harmonic oscillator and turbulent flow through a wire gauze, are then treated. The author also presents the general dynamics of decay, universal equilibrium theory, and the decay of energy-containing eddies.

Cambridge University Press, 2011. 168 p. ISBN: 0521190363 Turbulence is a huge subject of ongoing research. This book bridges the modern development in dynamical systems theory and the theory of fully developed turbulence. Many solved and unsolved problems in turbulence have equivalencies in simple dynamical models, which are much easier to handle analytically and numerically. This book gives a modern view of the subject by first giving the ess...

Cambridge University Press, 1996. - 312 pages. Written five centuries after the first studies of Leonardo da Vinci and half a century after A.N. Kolmogorov's first attempt to predict the properties of flow, this textbook presents a modern account of turbulence, one of the greatest challenges in physics. "Fully developed turbulence" is ubiquitous in both cosmic and natural environments, in engineering applications and in everyday life. Elementary...

Kluwer Academic Publishers, 1997. 288 p. ISBN:0-7923-4415-4 (HB), ISBN:0-7923-4416-2 (PB). Turbulence in Fluids is an attempt to reconcile the theory of turbulence, too often presented in a formal, isolated mathematical context, with the general theory of fluid dynamics. It reviews, in a unifying manner, the main characteristics and general theorems of rotational fluids (liquids or gases), with applications to aerodynamics and geophysical fluid...
