M?ller D. Chemistry of the Climate System
De Gruyter, 2011. - 720 pages

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing the mode world. The chemistry of the air within the framework of the climate system forms the main focus of this monograph. This problem-based approach to presenting global atmospheric processes begins with the chemical evolution of the climate system in order to evaluate the effects of changing air composition as well as possibilities for interference within these processes. Chemical interactions of the atmosphere with the biosphere and hydrosphere are treated in the sense of a multi-phase chemistry. From the perspective of a ""chemical climatology"" the book offers an approach to solving the problem of climate change through chemistry.

Wilеy-Blаckwell, 2008, 276 pages Whilst there is now overwhelming evidence that greenhouse-gas pollution is becoming the dominant process responsible for global warming, it is also clear that the climate system varies quite naturally on different time-scales. Predicting the course of future climate change consequently requires an understanding of the natural variability of the climate system as well as the effects of human-induced change. This...

Chelsea House, New York, 2008, 199 p. Dana Desonie, Ph.D. , has written about the earth, ocean, space, life, and environmental sciences for more than a decade. Her work has appeared in educational lessons, textbooks and magazines, and on radio and the Web. Though climate change is normal in Earth's history, global warming has raised average temperatures to their highest in two millennia, resulting in melting ice caps, shorter winters, changes i...

Wiley - Blackwell Publishing, Oxford, 2009, 319 pp. - ISBN 978-1-4051-8542-4 In the 1980s, observations of the removal of ozone from the polar stratosphere and rapid scientific advances in understanding the chemical behaviour of a group of pollutants containing halogens lead to international action to curb the emissions of these compounds, with a view to avoiding ozone depletion of the stratosphere. Twenty years later we are faced with an equally...

Cambridge University Press, 2011, 282 Pages Provides students with a solid foundation in climate science, with which to understand global warming, natural climate variations, and climate models. As climate models are one of our primary tools for predicting and adapting to climate change, it is vital we appreciate their strengths and limitations. Also key is understanding what aspects of climate science are well understood and where quantitative u...
