Timothy Opie. Amplitude Analysis in Musical Composition
ACMC05 Generate and Test: Proceedings of the Australasian Computer Music Conference 2005
8 pages

Abstract
This paper discusses the design, function, and initial
results of a set of four computer music tools. The tools
are the first step in a series of attribute studies based
on acoustic ecology and composition with natural
sounds. The application of the tools enables abstraction,
magnification, and transformation of specific
attributes defining a sound event. The study endeavours
to extract information from sound events that
can be categorised and used in a musical composition
process.

We have written this book as part of the underwater acoustics monograph series initiated by the Office of Naval Research (ONR), Department of the Navy of the United States. The ONR objective for this series is publication of in-depth reviews and analyses of the state of understanding of the physics of sound in selected areas of undersea research. This monograph presents the theory and practice of underwater electroacoustic transducers and arrays...

This title looks at the effects of sound and vibration on thin structures and details how damage may be avoided, acoustical effects created, and sound levels controlled. The aim of this monograph is to present the basic concepts and methods necessary for the study of vibro-acoustics phe...

Proceedings International Computer Music Conference, pages pp. 9-12, New Orleans, USA. Abstract. This paper introduces a new approach to music composition we call eco-structuralism. The techniques of ecostructuralism include analysis and transformation of sonic structures in environmental sounds. This paper elaborates on the motivations, process and techniques of ecostructuralism as a formalized method of music making that implements the princip...
