Fifteenth and Sixteenth Century Italian Drawings in The Metropolitan Museum of Art / Итальянская графика XV-XVI вв
Bean, Jacob, with the assistance of Lawrence Turcic. — New York: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1982. — 332 p.
Many of the best draughtsmen of the Italian Renaissance are represented in this volume, which describes and reproduces 293 drawings of the fifteenth and sixteenth century from the extensive collection of Italian drawings in The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Works by the greatest masters—Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Correggio—are included, as well as drawings by Barocci, Carpaccio, Parmigianino, Paolo Veronese, and Perugino.
Three hundred fifty-three illustrations are contained in this catalogue. Entries provide essential bibliographic references, provenance, and a discussion of the purpose of the drawing, when known. In the Appendix are reproduced thirty-four Italian seventeenth-century drawings acquired since the publication in 1979 of Seventeenth Century Italian Drawings in The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Jacob Bean is curator of the Department of Drawings at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Lawrence Turcic is research associate in the same department.
