This second volume of the series is a logical continuation of the first volume with the same central theme of 'hydraulic structures'. After dealing in the first volume with computational methods related to hydraulic structures design, sediment transport and some special features of irrigation structures, the second volume concentrates on some important problems encountered in the design of hydraulic structures. The first chapter is orientated towards the general discussion of principles involved in vibration of hydraulic structures and is followed by a chapter discussing in detail vibration of gates. The third chapter is a fundamental treatment of the aeration problem which is followed by two chapters giving a wide-ranging account of approaches, pitfalls and recent developments in the design of spillways and energy dissipators at high dams.
