Schwarz A., Janicka J. Combustion Noise
Springer, 2009. 291 p. ISBN:3642020372.

The reduction of noise emissions is a topic of increasing relevance in the public as well as for the economy. So far, the research has mainly concentrated on aerodynamic noise formation by airplanes, as well as other vehicles. The authors of this book go beyond this standard approach for noise reduction and explore the noise generation by combustion. They develop methods and design criteria in order to minimize the noise formation by combustion in general but for aircraft engines in particular. Hereby the research is focused on the noise formation and propagation in the environment directly linked to the combustion process, since today the understanding of these detailed formation mechanisms of combustion noise is still fragmentary. The book gives a detailed insight into combustion noise and the underlying physical processes combining experiments and simulations.

1969 53 pages The ratio of specific heats, molecular weight, viscosity, specific heat at constant prsure, thermal conductivity, and Prandtl number were calculated for air, the combus products of natural gas and air, and the combustion products of ASTM-A-1 jet fuel a air. These properties were calculated for temperatures from 300 to 2500 K, pressr of 3 and 10 atm (3.04~10 and 10.13~10 N/m ), and fuel-air ratios from zero to stc chiometric. Adiabat...

Springer, 2009. 340 p. ISBN:3540899553. Large Eddy Simulation (LES) is a high-fidelity approach to the numerical simulation of turbulent flows. Recent developments have shown LES to be able to predict aerodynamic noise generation and propagation as well as the turbulent flow, by means of either a hybrid or a direct approach. This book is based on the results of two French/German research groups working on LES simulations in complex geometries...
