There is a vast amount of literature on the subject of transmission electron mi-
croscopy. I have attempted to keep the number of citations down to a manageable
number; a textbook should, in my opinion, not be an exhaustive source of all pa-
pers in the field. Consequently, I may have overlooked important work, or perhaps
included topics without full citations of all seminal papers in that particular area.
