you a pretest, this book begins with the basics of word problems: keywords.
These are the terms that will tell you what operations to use, on which
numbers to perform them, what formulas to use, and the order in which each
step must be done. In the next chapter, we build a plan for solving word problems:
an eight-step process that takes keywords a step further—or a few steps
further. We lea to write number sentences for each possible operation, solve those number sentences, and then choose the most reasonable answer.
Finally, we check our work to be sure our answer is correct.
